Instruction for Thawing Shock-Frozen Calibration Standards

1. Thaw samples in a water bath to reach a temperature of 40±1°C
   Place the samples in a 40-43°C water bath in approximately 50 minutes until they reach the right temperature. The water must be at least at the level of the content, but the vial must not be completely under water.
   
   
2. Remove the sample from the water bath and invert the sample 20-30 times
   Please note that violent shaking of the sample may cause oiling off.  
   
   
3. Inspect the sample
   Check that the sample looks homogeneous and that the temperature of the sample has reached 40±1°C. If this is not the case, put the sample back in the water bath for another 10-15 minutes.
   
   
4. Prepare the sample according to your regulations
   The sample is ready for analysis directly from the water bath. If your regulations prescribe cooling of the sample before use, do this in a tempered water bath and not in an iced water bath.
   
   
5. Thawed samples must not be reused!
   If thawing of the sample has begun, it cannot be frozen and used again. However, a sample can be measured several times in immediate extension.
